Rockleigh Country Club Outdoor Garden Ceremony

The festivities kicked off with an interfaith ceremony in Rockleigh Country Club’s garden in Rockleigh, New Jersey. Bright pink rose petals guided the couple down the aisle toward an elegant chuppah draped in panels of ethereal ivory fabric. With the help of Rabbi David Winship (David’s childhood friend) and Imam Abdullah Antepli from Duke University, Susan and David created a custom ceremony that spoke to their respective Muslim and Jewish backgrounds. “It was important that our wedding traditions combined seamlessly,” Susan says. “Imam Antepli led the introduction, while Rabbi Winship welcomed us under the chuppah. David and I circled each other three times and then one time together, making seven circles. There was recitation from the Koran, and we chose family and members of our wedding party to read the seven blessings.”
