Following a romantic dinner, he revealed a ring and proposed. She said yes, and the couple began making plans for a traditional Sri Lankan Hindu ceremony in Minneapolis.

The Transportation
For the first dance, Rochelle surprised Varnesh with True Companion, by Marc Cohn.
The four-tiered, square, ivory cake was decorated with red and gold bands.
Rochelle’s hair was styled in a low chignon to allow for the traditional hair jewelry.
Guests were treated to traditional Sri Lankan cakes made of dried fruits, nuts, and spices. Each cake was individually wrapped in gold foil and placed in a red box, which featured a picture of the couple along with their names and wedding date scripted in gold.
Rochelle and Varnesh wed underneath a traditional mandap that was decorated with red fabric and flowers. Attendants looked on from chairs, and the bride and groom sat on a special fabric-covered bench.
