From the age of 13, Robin Boswell knew there was something special about Jason Ott. He lived just down the road from her, and she ran into him one day while riding her horse. “I was immediately attracted to him, but our timing was always off,” says Robin. The Bride Robin Boswell, 29, a freelance designer The Groom Jason Ott, 30, an industrial electrician The Date August 27 Years apart in high school and college curbed her enthusiasm, but an email from Jason renewed those adolescent feelings. She moved home to give their relationship a chance, and four years later he proposed on the wooded lot where they planned to build their future home.

Before their night at home ended, the couple had one more treat in store for their 150 guests: small jars of maple syrup that the bride’s parents had hand-tapped from the maple trees surrounding the ceremony site. “To this day, people are still asking for more syrup,” says Robin.
The Music
Robin wore an ivory A-line gown with beading and embroidery, along with a fingertip veil that was accented by an antique comb with brown and green crystals.
The ceremony was held in a shaded garden near the front of the house. Robin’s stepfather had spent hours landscaping the area, even laying down a gorgeous sandstone walkway that served as an aisle. Surrounded by ferns, stargazer lilies, and giant maple trees, Robin and Jason exchanged personally written vows in a spiritual ceremony that was officiated by a friend of the family.
A meaningful quote inspired by a Japanese love poem was printed on the back of the invitations: “A small dwelling in the wild meadow will be enough if you are there with me.”
Tuscan-inspired treats such as giant olives, hummus, crusty breads, and plump grapes kept everyone sated until dinner, which was served family-style at tables topped with glass lanterns and arrangements of berries.
An oak leaf and acorn motif popped up on the invites, programs, napkins, and fans.
In addition to the three-tiered chocolate and vanilla wedding cake, the couple served their favorite dessert: cheesecake with fresh blueberry topping.
Her bridesmaids, in chocolate-colored dresses, carried bouquets of lilies, roses, hydrangeas, and hypericum berries in the signature colors of the day.
