A sorority sister of Rebecca and a volleyball teammate of Ian set up their friends during Welcome Week of their senior year at the University of Michigan. The two dated from then on, living together in New York, California and Indiana. During the show, Ian asked Rebecca if she was having fun. She said she was. He then told her, “If you marry me, we’ll do fun things like this forever!” and gave her a ring. Over the next 13 months, the couple planned their Manhattan wedding.
