After Wayne proposed, the two began planning their destination wedding -- with a lot of help from Rachel's mom! The Bride Rachel McNeill, television news anchor The Groom Wayne Franklin, pediatric cardiologist The Date December 11 Though the couple planned from afar, Rachel's mother was involved every step of the way. The bride and her mom flew to Jamaica a week before the wedding to make sure every last detail was in order.

Rachel and Wayne were wed at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton in Montego Bay. The resort sits on 5,000 picturesque acres and features a spa and an 18-hole golf course. The bride walked down an aisle strewn with deep red flower petals, and the couple exchanged vows with a view of the ocean and palm trees as the backdrop.
The bloom of the day was hibiscus (the flower from Jamaica's national tree, the Blue Mahoe).

Just like the rehearsal dinner, steel drum players added local flair and livened up the cocktail hour.
Dessert was a white wedding cake topped with bright red blooms, and featured the couple's monogram in white.
