Rachel & Josh: A Ballroom Wedding in Washington, DC

Josh and Rachel met the summer after their junior year of high school, when they both attended a film program at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. We weren't friends that summer, admits Rachel. However, they were re-introduced during their freshmen year of college at Northwestern, and this second meeting sparked an immediate friendship. Says Josh, I never expected to meet my wife in college. But once we were together, I knew she was the one. THE BRIDE Rachel Glancz, 25 THE GROOM Josh Shader, 25 THE DATE May 26 Rachel suspected that Josh was going to propose within a certain time frame, and he knew that she was on to him. He tried really hard to surprise me with his proposal, says Rachel. He succeeded. One Saturday morning, as usual, Rachel reached into the kitchen cupboard to grab the box of cereal that she ate every morning. As she prepared to pour her cereal, she noticed a mysterious object inside the box. I looked on the outside of the cereal box to see if there was supposed to be a prize inside, laughs Rachel. I pulled the object out only to realize that it was a velvet ring box. When I turned around, Josh was beside me, down on one knee, holding a single rose.
