Pops of Red Filled This Autumn Wedding at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Texas

Jo Carol and Mark tied the knot on a crisp fall day with an intimate vow exchange in the Japanese Gardens at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden before heading over for a brunch reception at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth to celebrate their marriage. To add even more joy to the occasion, the entire event was lovingly planned by Jo Carol's daughter who is a wedding planner. Of working with her daughter on the event, Jo Carol recalls how Lindsey's "ability to understand our desires and artistic creativity in making the day happen was indispensable. Our day was perfectly magical and EXACTLY what we wanted."

Jo Carol shares that "the main thing we wanted was a simple but very elegant and intimate wedding. Only 30 of our family and closest friends were invited. We wanted our special day to be 'different' and thought an outdoor, noon wedding in the place where Mark proposed followed by brunch at the museum where we had our first date would be perfect. My biggest challenge was figuring out what I should wear. What does a bride my age wear to an outdoor noon wedding in November?! In Texas, November days can be close to freezing or 80 degrees! I chose to wear pants because it was a casual ceremony but I still wanted to look and feel pretty and 'Bride-y.' I found the right solution with an outfit by Alberto Makali. It was plain off-white crepe bell bottoms and an off-the-shoulder top with gorgeous bell lace sleeves. Perfect! I also brought a short white fur jacket in case it was chilly, but the weather was ideal."

The fall foliage made even more beautiful by vibrant floral arrangements, framed the couple's nuptials perfectly. "Sunny blues skies and crisp upper 60’s temps highlighted the incredibly magnificent colors of the peaceful garden," recalls Jo Carol. "Our ceremony took place in front of a waterfall with ducks, white cranes and huge goldfish in the large wooded pond. The stunning natural beauty of the ceremony location was matched by the equally stunning contemporary, clean lines of the Modern Art Museum. The patio, where we had a sit-down brunch, was also on a large body of water, complemented by steel, concrete and glass architecture and large silver sculptures of trees on the far side of the lake." Looking back on the Fort Worth wedding day, Jo Carol encourages all current to-be-weds to remember that "it's OK to keep the guest list edited down to just those who have really meant something special in your life and that you KNOW will still be close to you years from now."
