After meeting in college, Molly and Peter lived in DC for five years, so the couple took inspiration from the capital when planning their wedding at the Watergate Hotel. “It was very important to us to pay homage to our home city, where we built our lives and relationship,” Molly says. The couple especially loves walking around the city at night, when the monuments are lit up and you can sometimes see the stars. With marble walls and a twinkling LED ceiling, the venue had a similar glow, setting the tone for a glamorous affair. The city influenced the invitations, too. Letterpressed invitations included a custom monogram and hand-drawn view of DC, while an antique map of the city lined the envelopes.  Molly carried roses, peonies and snapdragons, as well as stephanotis, which was also in her mom’s bouquet while tall arrangements of pink and red roses brightened up dinner tables. The couple served rockfish and Maryland crab cakes with Old Bay rémoulade, a nod to both families’ mid-Atlantic roots.
