This Couple Personalized Every Part of Their Purple-and-Blue Wedding in St. Louis, Missouri

When it came time to celebrate their at-home wedding, Jennifer and Tim focused on personalization and honoring their family throughout the St. Louis, Missouri, event. "The day was truly about creating details that incorporated family, St. Louis, and the feeling of home," says Jennifer. "Everything was thoughtfully curated to reflect this intention; this was a blending of two families so all the kids were involved in one way. Tim’s son was his Best Man and my daughter my Maid of Honor. My son also walked me down the aisle and Tim’s daughters gave the readings."

To highlight the couple's historic home where the event was taking place, their vendor team took inspiration from the residence and let the space inform much of the stationery and design of the Missouri wedding. For example, the black-and-white flooring in the home's entryway inspired the shape of the RSVP card while the grate in front of the fireplace informed the shape and pattern of the folio. A vintage portrait of the 1904 World's Fair hangs in the couple's living room and served as inspiration for the wrapping that went around fresh slices of cake that greeted guests in their boxed invitations. 

The personalization of the day didn't stop with architecture- and home-inspired moments. Following the ceremony, everyone noshed on oven-fired pizza (for which the groom is known)—the catering team even wore apron branded with "Pop's Pizza." Meanwhile, everyone enjoyed piña coladas as a nod to Jennifer's go-to poolside drink while taking in a surprise synchronized swimmer performance. All in all, each and every detail was curated thoughtfully to infuse a sense of meaning into the day.
