Pampas Grass and Disco Balls Filled This Wedding at Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, Vermont

Funky disco balls came together with bohemian pampas grass for Olga and Dan's "modern yet timeless, relaxed and a little quirky, but hopefully still chic," wedding at Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, Vermont, on Lake Champlain. "We spend a lot of time on Lake Champlain and we always knew we wanted to get married there, even before we got engaged. Another reason why we chose BHC, is because we could host every wedding event at the same place where guests stayed in. Those who chose to stay there did not have to drive anywhere and could walk to every event we hosted that weekend. It really helped create a great community atmosphere for the whole weekend," the couple shares. The couple used their welcome bags to embrace the locale and give attendees a peek into classic Vermont staples. "Being that we were getting married in Vermont and many of our guests had never visited the state before, we wanted to make sure we included staple items that represented the state. I have to thank my amazing mother-in-law, Gina, for creating such an awesome welcome bag. She ordered a custom bag with the state of Vermont on it as well as our wedding date. She included items such as, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Turkey Jerky Sticks from Vermont Smoke 7 Cure and Maple Syrup to name a few!"

For the wedding's floral arrangements, the couple's designer used a mix of, "Pampas Grass, Green Amaranthus, King Protea, Astrantia, Wax Flower, Lysimachia, Misty White Limonium, silver dollar eucalyptus, baby blue eucalyptus, Palm Leaves, Aralia Leaves, Monstera Leaves and Ferns!" To ensure the wedding felt especially personal, Olga and Dan incorporated their heritage throughout. "I’m originally from Venezuela and Dan is from New Jersey, so we wanted to make sure we had a mix of traditions. One of Venezuela’s wedding traditions is to have an “La Hora Loca” or “Crazy Hour” which is an hour during the reception where the DJ/band plays the most upbeat music and everyone is expected to be on the dancefloor. Foam hats, masks, glow up sticks and other party favors are passed around and it pretty much looks like a Mardi Gras celebration! We had a big fireworks show after the reception, then everyone walked/took shuttles up to the after party at the Red Mill, this super cute bar and grill in the resort," they share.
