Paige & Doug in Lyndonville, NY
When Paige Doughty and Doug Washburn chose to study abroad in France, chemistry struck over a bottle of red wine at a Parisian cafe. The Bride Paige Doughty, 27, freelance environmental writer and educator The Groom Doug Washburn, 27, senior adviser The Date July 15 Paige has never lived in one place for long, so the couple chose to wed in the one spot that seemed like home to the bride -- the shores of Lake Ontario in Lyndonville, near her grandmother’s old farm. This locale was very special to Paige; she says she wanted to share her “love of the natural world and the sense of place that family history provides.” The couple worked hard to create a celebration that complemented the rural setting. For a color palette, they chose shades of blue and yellow, which were on display with the locally grown flowers used in all the arrangements.
