A Colorful Garden Wedding at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas

After visiting The Woodlands Country Club, Tanzim and David wanted to host an outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake. Tanzim tasked herself with creating a day accented with red, pink and white flowers and anchored by a more neutral base color. “I enjoyed doing the planning because I was able to pick out every detail,” she says. “It allowed me to express myself to the fullest and really see all the options that were out there.” In addition to the décor, the couple infused their day with a cultural blend of English, Spanish and Indian sounds. “Our families and guests come from many different backgrounds, and we wanted everyone to enjoy the music,” Tanzim says. Tanzim and David exchanged floral garlands in honor of Tanzim’s Bangladeshi roots. The bridesmaids wore anarkali- style dresses, while Tanzim stunned in an intricate, hand- embellished gown. Though textured charcoal linens marked the head table, the surrounding tables dressed in white and metallics kept the ballroom atmosphere airy and light. Snapdragons, roses, hydrangeas, anemones and green leaves gave the reception a hit of color. “I love bright colors, which is why I was so excited to find Flower Vibes,” Tanzim says of her florist. “Their style was exactly what I was looking for: saturated color, yet very elegant.”

Tanzim and David loved the “touching lyrics” of Ben King’s “Stand by Me” when they heard it playing at a restaurant. David’s dessert modeled his black BMW.  A sweet silhouette of the couple and their dog, Brody, plus pink blooms, added a romantic note to the all-white cake. Shortly after making their getaway, the out-of-town couple realized they both forgot their phones (read: Google Maps) and “had no idea where we were going,” Tanzim says. “We ended up driving around for another half hour until we somehow found our way back to the venue!”
