One Couple's Urban-Meets-Boho Wedding at Brooklyn Winery in New York

Amelia and Brian live in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood and the couple wanted to showcase their beloved corner of New York City with their wedding. "It was important to us that all wedding events take place in the neighborhood that meant so much to us," shares Amelia. "We wanted our guests to experience our Brooklyn spots all weekend long!"

"We leaned into candles, a warm color palette, and dried florals throughout every aspect of the wedding. From the beginning of our planning, we knew florals would play a HUGE part in our wedding design and truly brought our vision to life," explains Amelia. While Brooklyn was at the center of their wedding, the floral decor wedding was actually inspired by the couple's engagement in Paris, France. "We got engaged in the most beautiful bar underneath a newly opened restaurant in Paris in 2018. The vaulted ceilings were covered in dried florals, and we knew right away that we wanted to capture that same moment and feeling throughout our wedding celebrations back home in Brooklyn," recalls Amelia. "I did my research on the place for a few months and decided that if I were to propose in Paris this would 100% be the spot to do it," says Brian of the location of his Paris wedding proposal. "Small, romantic, candle lit. Dried flowers cover most of the small cathedral vaulted ceiling. Amelia was speechless, I was speechless. It could not have been more perfect."

In addition to a heavy focus on dried florals, the couple embraced a sense of personalization throughout their Brooklyn wedding. From wedding portraits at Bushwick Inlet Park along the water to late-night tacos and tequila, each element of Amelia and Brian's wedding fit the couple perfectly. Notably, the cake was designed to mirror Amelia's dress and the shoes the bride donned for the day paid homage to Brian—were custom engraved with her and Brian's initials on one shoe and “today, and every day forward” on the other. "From the moment I saw my dress on the hanger, it was love at first sight. I loved that it was a classic a line shape but with a modern neckline. And the print was like nothing I have ever seen before," recalls Amelia of the details that inspired the couple's wedding cake. In addition to fashion, the hair and makeup for the wedding was also ultra-personalized—the MOB actually did everyone's hair! "My mother is a hairstylist and did my hair as well as hair for all of my bridesmaids," shares Amelia.

Looking back on the New York City wedding, Amelia reminisces that "one of our favorite memories was after the festivities were over, Brian and I walked through our neighborhood and stopped for a slice of pizza before heading back to the hotel fully dressed in our wedding attire, completely in awe of the day and deliriously happy."

To any currently engaged couples, Amelia and Brian offer this advice: "Plan the day for you and your fiancé and enjoy it to the fullest when it is finally here. Eat your food, drink your champagne, and dance your face off. Soak in every moment of not only the day, but the weeks leading up to it."
