One Couple's Elegant Summer Wedding at Zingerman's Cornman Farms in Dexter, Michigan
Mansi and Alex got creative when infusing their two cultures into one wedding day. “We honored our families with both a Western-style ceremony and an Indian ceremony,” Alex says. The couple switched things up by asking Mansi’s aunts to walk her down the aisle and offering guests American and Indian meals. “Our guests got adventurous,” Alex says. The couple’s invites echoed the attire, thanks to deep shades of green and gold. Mansi and Alex included a secret weapon in their suite: ceremony programs explaining the different rituals of the Western and Indian services. “Those explanations of the two ceremonies were a big hit,” Alex says. Mansi’s ladies wore green and gold lehengas, which mirrored her second look, while Alex’s buds went dapper in sleek black tuxedos. After the Indian ceremony, Mansi slipped out of her white gown and into a party-ready green lehenga as well as heirloom jewelry from India, while Alex rocked his classic tux. Tall gold vessels filled with eucalyptus and other greenery topped tables. When it came to décor, the pair purposely kept flowers to a minimum. “We didn’t want to compete with the natural beauty of the farm,”Alex says. “Everything felt elegant without overwhelming the space." Mansi surprised Alex by completing the cake with a pic of their two dogs, which sat alongside a sweet spread of gelato and Indian treats. “It’s safe to say our wedding centered around good food,” Mansi says.
