One Couple's Magical Mountain Wedding at Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California
An intimate sunrise ceremony in Yosemite National Park was only natural for Aubrey and Michael, who first visited—and fell for—the landmark in 2015. “When deciding on a venue for our ceremony, we thought back to the feeling we had when we first went to Yosemite,” Aubrey says. She and Michael landed on Lower Yosemite Fall specifically because the spot had a paved path that led to the backdrop of the waterfall. “Nature has always allowed us to de-stress, disconnect from the world and reconnect with ourselves,” Aubrey says. “We went with nature because it represents something pure, untouched and unedited,” Michael says. “That’s what we wanted our wedding to be: just Aubrey and me in a pure commitment.”
Aubrey carried pink protea, burgundy peonies, dusty miller, feather eucalyptus and white mini waxflower. “My favorite moment was when we walked up the aisle together as our family waved gold ribbons and blew bubbles,” Aubrey says. “It was perfection.”
Though Aubrey and Michael cut the cake ahead of their casual lunch at The Majestic Yosemite Hotel, the twenty-five guests had to wait until the meal was over to snag a piece and some hot chocolate.
