One Couple's Glamorous Wedding at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City
Jeanine and Chris celebrated their love with a wedding that was "a culmination of many things" at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City, with epic skyline views serving as the picturesque backdrop to the day. Jeanine explains that the wedding was a "blend of Nigerian and Italian cultures in a sleek black and white New York City vibe, with lots of glamour. I wanted the wedding to be timeless and enjoyable for every guest and we definitely achieved that!"
It was paramount for the couple to blend nods to Italy, Nigeria and New York City into their rooftop wedding day. "New York City means so much to us as a couple, it is where we went on our first date, got engaged, and have spent so many incredible nights together," says Jeanine. "With Chris having played for the New York Giants and me growing up in the Tri-State area, we couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect city to host our guests. Tribeca Rooftop was the most amazing wedding venue for our quintessential New York City event."
Beyond honoring the places and cultures that mean so much to them as a couple, Jeanine and Chris also wanted their wedding day to feel glamorous, luxurious and personalized. "As a marketer by trade, it was very important for me to create a brand for us a couple and make sure it was highlighted in every detail," notes Jeanine. "I made a collection of logos and they were shown on the front door, cocktail napkins, all signage, round dinner menus, matches for the cigar roller, pillows, programs, and photo booth. I also wanted a fun upbeat vibe, almost like VIP service at a nightclub. So we had over 100 sparklers for every time a bottle was opened, or the cake was cut!" In addition to sparklers and custom logos woven throughout, food was another part of the wedding that Jeanine and Chris focused on when it came to personalization. "Food is very important to our families, so we really personalized the menu," says Jeanine. "The cocktail hour, had sushi, a raw bar, caviar, chicken and waffles, 10 signature cocktails, cigars, and much more. We then had a dessert cocktail hour, with passed sweets including chocolate chip cookies with shots of milk, boozy pops, and of course mini hot dogs, fat pretzels with cheese sauce, and sliders! Our guests are still talking about the food to this day!"
Looking back on the rooftop wedding day, Jeanine notes that her favorite moment was "definitely the performance by Charlie Romo. This was a tribute to my late grandmother, a NY native, and Frank Sinatra enthusiast. Guests threw napkins in the air and sang along to songs like New York, New York." And for other couples currently in the midst of planning their own special day, Jeanine encourages to-be-weds to "just go with it! Everything will not go as planned, but it will be perfect if you think about it in that light. With covid, we learned this very quickly, but we never let it dim our light. We had the most magical day despite all odds."
