Alycia Brown (25, editor in chief of a media company) and Zach Curtis (28, founder and CEO of virtual tutor finder company) met in New York City at a music internship in Rockefeller Center. They quickly became good friends and began spending a lot of time writing music together. Five months after they started dating, Zach told Alycia he had a song he had written about their relationship. The bridge of the song sang, “if tonight you just say yes…,” at which point he got on one knee and asked Alycia to marry him. The couple wed on a hill in Comfort, Texas, overlooking the countryside at sunset. Every element of Alycia and Zach’s wedding fell together beautifully with a soft color palette of blush, mint and ivory combined with rustic wood and burlap elements. They decorated the ceremony and reception with lots of garden roses, hydrangeas, anemones, dahlias and baby’s breath; no two floral arrangements were the same. “I chose this aesthetic because Zach and I don’t like anything flashy or fancy—we wanted our wedding to be naturally beautiful and inspiring,” says Alycia. At the cocktail hour and reception, guests enjoyed Texas beers and wines and danced to Alycia’s dad’s old band on the beautifully lit pavilion. Instead of a wedding cake, guests chose from cupcakes of three local flavors: Shiner Bock Chocolate, Super Peanut Butter and Magnolia Bakery Vanilla. Alycia and Zach sent guests home with Reese’s peanut butter cups in burlap bags and and drove into the night in a bright yellow Corvette.

A naturally beautiful outdoor venue was a priority for Alycia and Zach, so they chose to get married in the Texas Hill Country. “Zach and I both love being outside and we feel inspired and uplifted in nature,” says Alycia.

Alycia chose a sheath style dress with a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves to highlight her petite figure. The ivory gown also had a keyhole back and a blush Vera Wang sash.

The groomsmen wore light grey suits with white button up shirt with an unbuttoned top button, no ties and a pocket square and camel-colored shoes for a very casual look.

“I wanted to feel beautiful and comfortable on my wedding day, so I knew I didn’t want anything too fancy or traditional,” says Alycia. She wore ivory crochet TOMS for the casual ceremony.
Alycia wanted each bouquet and boutonniere to be different, so her florist creatively put together a blend of what Alycia loved: garden roses, dahlias, peonies, anemones, hydrangeas and baby’s breath.
The flower girl wore a flower headpiece of baby’s breath and wax flowers and carried a sweet miniature bouquet of blush garden roses and dusty miller down the aisle. She wore a lace mint dress similar to the bridesmaids.

“I wanted an earthy, elegant feel with rustic features,” says Alycia. Their wedding featured a pale color palette along with wooden and burlap elements.
Alycia and Zach were married at sunset on a hill looking over the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country. They added to the romantic natural beauty with aisle decorations of white rose petals and floral elements.

“The weather, the view and the décor were so incredible. I was blown away when I arrived on site and saw all that had been done,” says Alycia. The pavilion lit up after sunset so guests could dine and dance into the night.
