Basing a color palette around the seasonal blooms of a garden isn’t always easy, but since Alyx Patterson (25 and a hairstylist) and Coner Boaen (26 and a landscaper) were using neutral colors to complement the natural decor, everything blended right in. “We didn’t want our decor or wedding day fashions to be bright and bold,” Alyx says. “We wanted the natural beauty of the trees, greenery and gardens to be enhanced by the style we brought in.” The couple had their rustic-chic wedding at the historic bed-and-breakfast Kaleidoscope Inn and Gardens in Nipomo, California. The ceremony took place in the inn’s garden space, where the aisle was decorated with black lanterns and small baby’s breath arrangements, just one of the many details captured by Alison D Photography. The reception featured simple dining tables covered in white linens adorned with centerpieces of bronze candelabras, wood lanterns and vintage glass bottles filled with baby’s breath. RSVP Events & Design helped the couple establish the soft, warm ambience. What we thought truly embodied the rustic-chic vibe was the small gazebo with an archway where Alyx and Coner were married, decorated in branches and a paper sign that read, “Let the Adventure Begin.” “We never expected that just this one day would provide so much love, laughter, tears and emotion,” Alyx says. “We are so blessed to have been able to bring everyone together under the same trees to celebrate our marriage.”

Alyx followed the rustic-chic theme by wearing a simple flower crown made simply out of baby's breath, which was also incorporated into the arrangements and decor of the wedding day.
Alyx wore a pair of gold sparkly heels with an open toe, showing off the tattoo on her right foot. The bottom of her train draped around her feet and was accented with lace, revealing just a glimpse of the overlay that covered her entire ivory V-neck wedding dress.
One of the bridesmaid dresses was champagne-colored, accented with gold on the strapless bodice. The other was a strapless ivory dress with a blush tint and a fitted bodice that had a pin on the waist. Both hung alongside Alyx's V-neck ivory wedding dress completely covered in lace.
Alyx and Coner were married outside at the the Kaleidoscope Inn and Gardens in Nipomo, California. They were married under the arch of a small, elegant gazebo in the garden, which was decorated with branches and a hanging sign that read, "Let the Adventure Begin."
White folding chairs were lined up for guests at the ceremony. Fans were positioned on the chairs so the attendees could keep cool on the summer day. The chairs faced the altar, where the couple married underneath a small gazebo on the property, decorated in branches and a hanging paper sign.
Casual Gray Vest and Khakis
At their outdoor reception at Kaleidoscope Inn and Gardens, dining tables were dressed in white tablecloths with matching napkins. The centerpieces were bronze candelabras holding long candlesticks, along with wood lanterns and baby's breath.
"Love" Sign with Draped Lace
Lounge furniture was spread around the outdoor venue for guests to put their feet up and relax. On this table, a chalkboard sign depicted the couple's Instagram hashtag for the wedding day, encouraging guests to tag their photos on their social media platforms. A black lantern and small gold candles decorated the table as well.
The sweetheart table was draped with simple white linens at the reception. It had gold sparkly candle holders at each end and an arrangement of baby's breath in the middle. A gold sign hung in the front, with a heart in the middle of "Mr. & Mrs."
The classic two-tiered ivory wedding cake was decorated with yellow flowers and positioned on a glass stand. "For our dessert, since neither of us are big sweets people, we decided to do a smaller cake that was mostly for the cake cutting and smashing it into each other's faces," Alyx says. "Guests were then able to enjoy the most delicious homemade macarons, along with white chocolate treats made by some very special family members."
