Music Was Central to This Wedding at Fountain Point Resort in Lake Leelanau, Michigan
As a musician, Jon Timm's wedding to Brianne Farley was sure to involve plenty of music. For the couple's wedding in northern Michigan, they, "invited several of his friend's bands from Traverse City, Detroit, and Nashville to play, and we had a big karaoke party following the reception BBQ. Then, me and Will (one of Jon's groomsmen) worked together to surprise him during our first dance. All the friends he has played music with throughout the years marched into the tent halfway through our dance and circled around us playing drums and trumpets and kazoos and guitars. I thought it would just be a fun surprise, but we were both so moved by the love our friends showed us in that moment," Brianne shares of the musical details at the couple's Michigan wedding. The music-centric festivities kept going all night long. "At the reception, everyone got on the dance floor immediately and never left. Two people told me they bruised their hands by playing the mini light-up tambourines too hard," Brianne says. As for advice, she went on to share encouragement for couples to, "make use of the traditions that make sense for you, let go of the ones that don't, and, in my opinion, keep it short. And make sure you dance all night."
