Industrial Rooftop Wedding at Morgan's on Fulton in Chicago, Illinois
Shannon and John got married in their very own neighborhood of West Loop largely because their venue, Morgan’s on Fulton, has an unbelievable rooftop and multiple floors, giving their guests a unique experience for each part of the day. “We love planning parties at home, and it was a great challenge to plan an awesome day to celebrate us,” Shannon says. Minimalist décor with a focus on candles created an aesthetic that Shannon calls “timeless and elegant.” “Black and white never goes out of style, and everyone looks beautiful in romantic candlelight,” she says.
Shannon and John moved their boxwood backdrop to the rooftop after they exchanged personal vows led by their friend Jason.
Instead of a wedding cake, the pair went with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams.
Guests got after Big Star tacos served family style under string lights. “With the Chicago skyline as your backdrop on a crystal-clear, crisp fall evening, warmth, connection and love are the only wedding vibes you need,” Shannon says. The newlyweds hit the floor to an artist they’d seen in concert many times: Ron Pope. “The lyrics to ‘Last First Kiss’ are incredible and truly speak to how we feel about one another,” Shannon says.
