Moroccan-Inspired Beach Wedding in Alys Beach, Florida
rn After meeting on a birthright trip and sharing their first kiss on a beach in Tel Aviv, Rebekah (Bek) Kaplan (29 and a sales manager) and Drew Levey (29 and an investment banker) had their hearts set on saying “I do” by the ocean. However, a beach-themed wedding wasn’t what Bek had in mind. Instead, she opted for a celebration filled with subtle Moroccan notes. “I’ve been to Morocco, and I love the décor there,” Bek says. “Alys Beach has a lot of Moroccan architecture too.” Shades of white, silver, peach and a smoky blue brought the theme to life. Bek wore a beaded tulle fit-and-flare gown with a short-sleeve sheer top. The couple incorporated traditional Jewish elements in their ceremony, then followed with a glamorous reception featuring tables topped with tall glass vases overflowing with cherry blossoms and tulips and finished with lucite chairs. The couple printed their menu on a bag filled with rosemary and a small baguette. To echo the Moroccan theme, three of the cake’s five tiers included a mosaic-style pattern.
