Things started out pretty casual for Chelsea and Scott. They shared some of the same friends and were both Virginia Tech Alum. At first they tried not to get too serious; Scott was about to take a job five hours away. But they soon realized it was worth the extra effort. “We knew that this was no ordinary relationship,” says Chelsea. The Bride Chelsea Stahr, 26, project manager The Groom Scott MacMeekin, 29, interior designer The Date June 6 Some of the couple’s best memories, like romantic dinners and trips to Paris, had taken place on Valentine’s Day. Scott decided to add one more. Chelsea came home to a candlelit dinner in the couple’s new home. They spent the evening eating and reminiscing. Then Scott got down on one knee and asked Chelsea if she would spend the rest of her Valentine’s Days with him.

While their bouquets represented one of the wedding colors, their dresses represented the other. Knee-length, silk taffeta fuchsia gowns were perfect for a fresh garden wedding.
Vibrant peonies floating above submerged river rocks continued the look of the garden inside the reception tent.
The table cards featured random numbers, rather than chronological. Each one represented a place that the bride and groom had visited, for example, Table 6 represented the six million cubic feet of water that falls over the crest line per minute at Niagara Falls.
Rather than serving just the traditional cake, Chelsea and Scott served a small polka dotted three-tiered cake and variety of cupcakes embellished with the couple’s green and pink monogram.

A reception area was set up outdoors and beneath a tent strung with globe lights and colorful Chinese lanterns. The table linens matched the chartreuse and fuchsia theme.
Bright fuchsia peonies popped tied with flowing white ribbon popped against Chelsea’s white dress and her bridesmaids’ contrasting green bouquets of cymbidiums, button mums and hypericum berries.
Bright fuchsia d’Orsay peep-toe pumps peeked out from beneath Chelsea’s skirt. A little crystal embellishment on the toes finished the look.
The groom designed the wedding invitations himself! Chartreuse flowers branched out over a cream-colored card with elegant black print.
