Modern Jewish Wedding Ceremony Recessional

Abby and Ross had a very progressive ceremony, with a rabbi Ross has known since childhood. “We included the traditional seven circles in our ceremony; however, we added a modern twist to it. Traditionally, the seven circles involves the bride circling around the groom seven times. This signifies that the groom is the center of her universe,” Abby says. “For our ceremony, I circled around my husband three times and he circled around me four times. We thought this better reflected modern times.” After they did this and broke a wine glass, the couple started their recessional. Lush arrangements of white hydrangeas, lilac roses and baby's breath lined their way past all 175 guests.
