As a college student at North Carolina State University, Minnie watched A Wedding Story on TLC with her roommates every day. I've always loved weddings and wanted to plan my own! she says. THE BRIDE Minnie Sun, 24, accountant THE GROOM Ki Ho Kang, 26, computer engineer THE DATE August 9 So when Minnie's boyfriend of seven months, Ki Ho, presented her with two kissing teddy bears with a gorgeous ring between their magnetic noses, she dove right in and started planning their country club wedding rich with Asian culture.

The Ceremony Decor
Minnie changed out of the vibrant Asian wedding wear she donned for the tea and joined guests amid long tables numbered with Chinese characters that included happiness, love, and health. Colorful cocktail umbrellas served as place cards, while floating water lilies with candles and rose petals brightened up the tables.
The First Dance
Minnie's five bridesmaids wore burgundy dresses with empire waists and spaghetti straps. Minnie wore a strapless beaded sheath, a pair of satin shoes, and chic chandelier earrings.

Fresh flowers adorned the simple four-tier white, peanut butter, and Grand Marnier wedding cake decorated with simple gold beads in a star shape.

On the wedding day, inclement weather threatened the outdoor service. But bright skies greeted Minnie and Ki Ho just long enough for the Chinese readings and a Korean blessing for the couple by Ki Ho's father.  Following the ceremony, guests threw rose petals passed in white paper cones, as the newlyweds recessed up the aisle.
