Minnesota Wild Rice Wedding Favors

Each place setting was decorated with little linen bags filled with Minnesota wild rice and a family recipe for it. The outside was stamped with Kate and Patrick's initials and decorated with a tag that said, "Thank you for joining us in this wild celebration of love." Rice has been important in wedding culture for years. Traditionally, it was thrown as the couple took their first steps up the aisle as husband and wife. The grain was believed to wish the couple an abundant harvest and prosperous life.
