Mermaids and Aerialists Wowed at This Wedding on Governor's Island in New York
Mackensie and Tyler love any excuse to rock a costume. The couple wanted to show guests a party unlike any other, which they jokingly called The Spectacle. "We love to travel and spent months looking overseas,” Mackensie says. “In the end, we wanted our family there, so we decided on our home, the Big Apple.” The pair honored their love of dressing up and getting down by planning a Roaring Twenties–style bash with a few modern additions: LED robots, aerialists and more.
Mackensie and Tyler welcomed loved ones to Governor’s Island for a wedding weekend full of live entertainment—from carnival dancers to their own showstopping number. After the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds jetted off on a sunset cruise. Mermaid performers and a New Orleans–style jazz band kept guests dancing on the historic ship. Later in the evening, Tyler and Mackensie rocked vintage-inspired outfits for a choreographed dance complete with cryo gun. For dessert, Mackensie and Tyler skipped a traditional cake cutting in favor of Mackensie hopping out of an eight-foot-tall prop cake, Gatsby style.
