Melanie and Kevin always wanted a destination wedding, and after dating for six years, the two decided to get married in Mexico. But their plans fell apart when their lawyer told them that in order for Melanie to get her green card quickly (which was important because the couple was relocating from Canada to San Francisco), it'd be best if they were married sooner rather than later. The Bride Melanie Thibault, 32, intern architect The Groom Kevin Rooney, 37, attorney The Date June 22 Just two weeks later, the couple had a new plan and exchanged vows in front of their four closest friends in the rotunda at San Francisco's city hall. After the ceremony, Melanie and Kevin hosted a lunch complete with champagne and cake for their friends. It was so perfect and intimate, Melanie says.
