Music added an additional twist. For their first dance, Melanie and Hernani began with a slow dance, burst into a cha-cha, moved on to a disco routine, then a hip-hop number, before finally hitting the cha-cha and the slow dance again. Some couples may have had stage fright, but not these two.  Says Melanie, Hernani and I are such hams, this wasn't difficult.
The Cake
Melanie and Hernani included several Filipino wedding traditions in their Catholic ceremony. Says Melanie, Our wedding party was so large [there were 23 attendants!], Father Gallagher joked that he had never seen a longer procession.
Melanie and Hernani are both designers, so an unconventional and bold palette fit their aesthetics. Shades of orange and pink and all the colors in between (seen here in the wedding programs) set the whimsical mood they sought to create.
