Megan and Bob first met through mutual pals while they were in high school in Topeka. Both attended the University of Kansas, where their friendship grew into something more. He convinced Megan's boss to give her the day off from work because it was her birthday and sent her off for a massage. She came home that evening to find their entire home covered in flower petals, with candles lit, a fire burning in the fireplace and a nice dinner ready. Just before they ate, Bob revealed one more surprise: He got down on one knee and asked Megan to marry him. They then popped open some champagne and celebrated. The couple said I do just over a year later, beneath an arbor in the front yard of the groom's parents' home.

Megan and Bob exchanged vows on the front lawn of the groom's parents' house. The wedding party entered the ceremony from the front door of the home, while a string quartet played on the front porch and a trumpet soloist performed on the balcony.
Megan and Bob's guests enjoyed a three-tiered cake frosted in buttercream and decorated with pink ribbon and pink roses. A monogram H topped the cake.
Megan's four bridesmaids and junior bridesmaid wore pale pink dresses.
Megan walked down an aisle carpeted with pink rose petals. Small glass vases filled with pink peonies hung from shepherd's hooks, marking the edges of the aisle.
