A month later, during dinner at The Castle on the Hudson, Adom surprised Megan with a proposal, complete with her great-grandmother’s heirloom ring.

As soon as Megan and Adom saw Lord Thompson Manor, they knew it was the right place for their wedding. The country estate served not only as the ceremony and reception site, but also as the meeting point for the rest of the wedding weekend activities.
Wanting the bouquets to match their eclectic style, Megan asked for textured and colorful arrangements. The bride carried a bouquet of green, ivory, and dark red orchids, calla lilies, and roses mixed in with greenery.
The Reception
Guests sat in one of four dining rooms, each with its own color and theme. Every place setting featured a deep purple napkin with a menu tucked inside. For an added natural element, blackberry sprigs, star anise, fiddlehead ferns, or hazelnuts accompanied each menu.
The ceremony took place in the manor’s garden underneath a wrought-iron gazebo. The aisle was covered in pink rose petals and flanked with shrubbery, candles, and small hanging floral arrangements.
To complement her V-neck, art deco-style gown, Megan wore a birdcage veil during the ceremony. An art deco-style crystal hair comb finished her look.
Adom’s boutonniere captured the eclectic, natural style of the day. He wore a fiddlehead fern accented with more greenery on his lapel.
The four-tiered chocolate cake was filled with caramel and buttercream frosting. In keeping with the natural reception decor elements, the outside of the confection was frosted in white and decorated with a fiddlehead fern design.
