'Mean Girls' Inspired This Wedding at The Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May, New Jersey

Eric and Daniel (Dan) were advocates of bypassing tradition from the start, wanting to design a celebration that reflected their unique style and personalities. “We wanted to have a wedding that people would remember forever,” Eric says. Instead of sticking to one venue, the grooms hosted a “wedding crawl” at three different spots in Eric’s hometown so guests could fully immerse themselves in Cape May’s history and charm.“ From the first day we met, I’ve always felt there was something very serendipitous about our relationship,” Dan says. “I promised Eric it would always stay that way.” The stylish pair both opted for unique looks, with Dan in a forest-green suit and a gold flower pin and Eric in a rich, raspberry-hued style. “I chose my suit a whole year before the wedding,” Eric says. “I saw the color and was like, ‘I need that.’” Eric’s graphic designer friend used her creativity to paint a wood sign with the couple’s names, wedding date and location on it. “She knocked it out of the park,” Eric says. As Mean Girls enthusiasts, the duo wanted to feature the notorious Burn Book, which Dan’s sister read from while she officiated their ceremony.  The pair opted for minimal decorations so The Chalfonte Hotel’s quaint style could stand out.
