Mary Troy and Wesley Kapsa love the great outdoors (and each other) so it was only natural to hold their summer wedding near a cliff overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. The Bride Mary Troy, 28, channel sales analyst The Groom Wesley Kapsa, 29, account manager The Date September 5 As newcomers to Portland, a mutual friend suggested Mary and Wesley meet each other. As luck would have it, they were both training for the Portland Marathon. The first few months we spent together involved a lot of running and a great friendship, says Mary. Later on we realized our feelings ran a lot deeper. Mary thought she was headed to the airport for a last-minute business trip but Wesley met her at the gate for a surprise trip to Whistler in Canada. During an after-dinner hike and some stargazing, Wes pulled a Tiffany's box out of his pocket and proposed. The lush landscape was a major factor for this outdoor summer wedding overlooking Columbia River Gorge, a top windsurfing spot. To keep the mood light and breezy the invitations, directions, programs and place cards were simple but elegant with light blue font on white paper and a signature little blue flower at the top.

The Reception
The Formalwear
The bridesmaids, flower girl and bride all walked down through a garden on rock steps from the bed and breakfast above to enter into the ceremony which took place on a lawn right near the cliff overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. There were windsurfers out on the river and not a cloud in the sky, says Mary.
