Marisa & Duncan: An Outdoor Wedding in Lyons, CO

Marisa and Duncan met when Marisa arrived to pick up Duncan’s roommate, an old friend of hers, for Easter supper. Marisa was about to graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder (where Duncan had also gone to school), and after that first meeting the two kept running into each other. “On graduation night at one of these run-ins we finally exchanged phone numbers and our first kiss,” Marisa remembers. The Bride Marisa Kirschenbaum, 27, sales representative The Groom Duncan Wheeler, 33, manager and landscape designer The Date July 29 The two dated for six months before Duncan went up to Jackson Hole for the winter season, and when he returned, the two moved in together in Boulder. “Since then, we have spent every summer in Boulder and every winter season in Jackson Hole snowboarding in the Tetons,” Marisa says. After four years went by, the couple started shopping around for rings and nine months later were married back near their Boulder home.
