The Cake
The bride provided a punch of color when she walked down the aisle in a full-skirted, rum pink satin dress. In a striking contrast to the bright spring bouquets, the bridal party was decked out in black formalwear, with the bridesmaids in strapless, black satin separates and the groomsmen in Tommy Hilfiger tuxes.
The Reception Decor
During the ceremony, both Christian and Hindu readings were offered in honor of the bride’s and groom’s respective backgrounds. Because Jay had only been to a handful of Christian ceremonies, he was intent on following the minister’s lead, which was good practice until the minister didn’t tell Jay to kiss his new bride. The couple recessed up the aisle without their big smooch! The oversight was quickly rectified, though, when the couple ducked out for some pictures on the beach.
The Ceremony Decor
The florist provided exquisite bouquets of sweet peas, hydrangea, tweedia, and open garden roses.
The dancing kicked off with Marian and Jay’s taking the floor to the band’s rendition of “Our Love Is Here to Stay.”
Because visitors can only gain access to Bald Head Island via ferry, and, once there, golf carts are the only mode of transportation, a few vendors weren’t up to the challenge; but Marian and her mother were smart and enlisted the help of the special events managers at Bald Head Island Limited and The Shoals Club. Together, they were able to find trams and golf carts for their guests and all of the pros Marian needed.
