Mandy and Jeff wanted their wedding to reflect the fall season, a vision that was realized using deep burgundy and bright orange hues. Even though Mandy and Jeff met at the beginning of their freshman year at the University of Rhode Island and stayed friends all four years, Jeff didn’t ask out Mandy until the second semester of their senior year. “From that first magical date, we knew we would be together forever,” Mandy says. On her birthday in 2002, Jeff, now a 26-year-old staff engineer, took Mandy, now a 26-year-old events coordinator, for a romantic weekend in Newport, Rhode Island. The two went to Ocean Drive -- a spot well-known for its historic mansions and grand estates -- and Jeff surprised Mandy with a sunset proposal.

Guests gathered for the ceremony at the Church of the Assumption in Morristown, a gothic-style structure built in 1845.
The First Dance
Mandy carried an 18-flower bouquet of Black Magic roses, Tropical Amazon roses, Miracle roses and blue plorum.

Mandy and Jeff's reception was held in a historic mansion, where marble fireplaces were topped with flower arrangements in tall zinc urns.
The Exit
The four-tiered wedding cake had two layers of cheese cake and two of carrot cake. Each tier was topped with a white chocolate mousse fondant-like icing and dressed with burgundy silk ribbon around the base.
The Escort Cards
Mandy and Jeff gave their guests white gift boxes filled with gourmet teas and bags filled with freshly ground hazelnut and French roast coffees. The boxes were wrapped with silk organza burgundy ribbon and finished with a fresh Black Magic rose on the top of the box.
At Mandy and Jeff's vintage-inspired reception, lush floral arrangement and romantic details added to the drama of the space.
Mandy’s four bridesmaids wore simple strapless merlot tea-length dresses by Bill Levkoff. The bride replaced the black velvet ribbon belts with burgundy ones that had a hint of orange to better fit the color palette. The bridesmaids also wore burgundy crystal chandelier earrings and bracelets that Mandy had given them as gifts.
