Mackenzie & Bradley: An Outdoor Wedding in Pisgah, AL

Outdoor-lovers Mackenzie Cordes and Bradley Latham married in a pavilion overlooking the Tennessee River, in a wedding alight with colorful touches. The Bride Mackenzie Leigh Cordes, 27, project coordinator The Groom Bradley Adam Latham, 27, events coordinator The Date October 8 Mackenzie and Bradley currently live in Colorado, but first met as students at the University of Alabama. One summer afternoon they both wound up at the lagoon, a local swimming hole much-loved for its cooling rapids. As Mackenzie remembers it, We had been there awhile when out of nowhere comes some crazy kid riding a cooler of beer down the rapids into the lagoon! After finishing his wild ride, Bradley introduced himself, smiled with his big dimples, and Mackenzie was smitten. We knew that we wanted to get married in the fall and that we wanted to be married outside, Mackenzie says. And she and Bradley knew one more thing for sure: they wanted lots of sunflowers. The bright and beautiful flower helped set the tone for a festive, colorful wedding. Mackenzie did all of the planning from Colorado, with help from local planner Bruce Beaird. He took all my ideas about the site and turned them into a reality beyond our wildest dreams, Mackenzie says. The onsite wedding director at Gorham’s Bluff also helped to create many memorable touches.
