Planning a Minnesota wedding from New York proved to be challenging, for Lori and Xavier, so Lori's mother stepped in to help out. Together, they planned a family-focused, garden-theme celebration nestled on the edge of Plymouth Creek Park. THE BRIDE Lori Wipf THE GROOM Xavier Perez THE DATE September 5 A shared love of jazz led to a noteworthy connection between 27-year-old musicians Lori and Xavier. The two met in a music practice room at the University of Miami and quickly realized they had much in common. After graduation, the duo took their savings and headed to New York City, where, after finding an apartment, they hit some local landmarks. Xavier insisted we travel to the top of the Empire State Building, even though the day was overcast, Lori says. While she was checking out the view from the top, Xavier plucked a tiny box from his saxophone case, knelt down, and proposed overlooking the city the two would soon call home.
