The Bride Lori Ann Loesch The Groom David Hudson The Date April 23 Apart for just over three months, college sweethearts Lori Ann Loesch and David Hudson quickly realized they weren't cut out for a long-distance relationship. So David took a leap of faith and left his home state of Kentucky to join Lori in Texas. I'll always remember the day he walked off the plane with just a bag in each hand and faith in his heart, says Lori. Nearly two years later, the couple married at a sweet Texas-style celebration.

The Couple
Lori wore a strapless white mock two-piece gown with beaded lace and a sweep train.
The bride's cake was a three-layer strawberry cake with strawberry filling iced with buttercream and adorned with yellow and white roses. A western-style bride and groom topped it off. The groom's cake, a two-layer white cake with cream cheese icing, featured a fishing theme. Both cakes were created by Debbie Woodruff, a friend of the groom's family.
Lori carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and yellow and white roses wrapped with a chocolate brown ribbon. Dave's lapel boasted a yellow rose and a white rose, while his attendants had just yellow.
The ceremony took place at precisely 3:47 in the afternoon, because Dave always says he'll call you or be over in seven minutes or eleven minutes -- never the usual five or ten, Lori explains. The couple exchanged vows beneath the oak trees in the bride's parents' front yard. After pictures, the reception took place on the driveway. A western saddle on a hay bale, an old handmade buckboard wagon, candles set in horseshoes, and plenty of yellow roses set the stage for a truly Texas-style celebration.
