When a mutual friend introduced them in the Bahamas, they immediately hit it off and began dating when they returned to Villanova University, where they were both students. Nearly five years later, Chris told Liz, an avid runner, that he’d like to start jogging with her once in a while. It was on a December morning jog along the beach (the two live in California) that Chris surprised Liz with a romantic proposal. He started by confessing that he’d spent more than the $100 limit they’d agreed to stick to for Christmas presents. “Still unsuspecting, I said ‘It’s okay, I’m sure I will, too,’” Liz says. “Then he got on his knee and asked me to marry him.”
