Lisa & Todd in Washington Crossing, PA

Todd asked Lisa to accompany him to Europe to re-trace his parents' honeymoon trip. But the truth was, he had a completely different marriage on his mind. During the couple's stay in Germany, Todd took Lisa on a midnight stroll to enjoy a nearby brook surrounded by water fountains. I bent down on one knee and asked her to marry me, recalls Todd. But the fountains must have been on some sort of timer, because as soon as she said yes, all the lights on the fountains went off! My parents live in an historic farm house, says the bride. I grew up there, so it was a really meaningful place to hold the wedding. Lisa's mom's extraordinary green thumb contributed greatly to the lush atmosphere. Lisa's mom did an incredible amount of work to prepare for the wedding, says Todd. She gardened constantly. Even though all the activity was taking place right in the bride's own backyard in Washington Crossing, the couple was struck by how relaxed everything was. The atmosphere felt incredibly easy-going, remembers Todd.
