Two years after they first met as Auburn University undergrads, Britton Henig finally asked Lindsey Wallace out on a date. Years later, on Britton’s request, Lindsey stopped by their new house to see something he’d just gotten for it. “Tired and downtrodden from the week, I strolled into the house to find a rose-petal pathway lined with candles leading me to Britton on one knee,” she remembers. The Bride Lindsey Wallace, 25, branding specialist The Groom Britton Henig, 27, assistant VP of commercial lending The Date May 12 Lindsey and Britton chose to marry in the bride’s hometown. To assist the couple and the mother of the bride in making arrangements, Lindsey and Britton hired a wedding and event planner in Nashville who Lindsey says “helped tie everything together just the way I had pictured it.” They chose an all-white theme to contrast with the black tuxedos and bridesmaid dresses. “It was classic, timeless, and beautiful -- just what I wanted,” the bride says.

To contrast with their black dresses, Lindsey’s bridesmaids carried all-white bouquets featuring lilies, hydrangeas, stephanotis, and roses.
Lindsey and Britton’s wedding cake featured five alternating square and round tiers adorned with sugar orchids and fondant flowers. Inside, the flavors swapped back and forth between white almond and strawberry.
Lindsey and Britton were married in the church the bride had attended since childhood -- the ceremony was even performed by the same bishop who had baptized her. The sanctuary was filled with candles for the evening ceremony. “I wanted it to seem intimate, even though there were lots of friends and family there,” the bride explains.
The Ceremony Decor
Two large arrangements of white flowers, including lilies, roses, and hydrangeas, sat near the altar of the church where Lindsey and Britton wed.
The Hair
Lindsey’s bridesmaids wore long, black, A-line dresses in silk dupioni by Watters and Watters; the dresses featured a tie in the back brought together in a knot.
Lindsey wore a silk satin fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline by Melissa Sweet. She made the gown her own by having a local designer add thick straps that met in a “V” at the back of the gown.
The First Dance
The tables set up in the outdoor lounge area at the reception had low arrangements of flowers, along with glowing votive candles. “Everyone relaxed out there and enjoyed the beautiful weather and outdoor bar,” the bride remembers.
For Lindsey and Britton’s ceremony at the Brentwood United Methodist Church, white lilies, roses, and hydrangeas adorned the end of every other pew.
