Lauxmont Farms Afforded Guests at This Wedding Sweeping Views of the Pennsylvania Hillside

High atop Pennsylvania's rolling hills and overlooking the Susquehanna River, Lauxmont Farms served as the stunning venue for Chris and Heather's outdoor tented wedding. In the beginning the couple wasn't sure what they had in mind for their wedding, but "we knew that we wanted a more laid back environment that we could do anything we wanted with. We spent hours on Pinterest looking at different wedding designs and kept finding ourselves pinning rustic ideas," Heather says. In the end Lauxmont Farms was the perfect fit to bring their relaxed, rustic and intimate wedding to life. However, in keeping with Heather's love of sparkle and all things glam, the twosome made sure to sprinkle in a bit of glam to their otherwise bucolic theme.

When it came to the wedding's décor, Heather and Chris had "flowers everywhere! I told the florist that there could not be too many flowers and he agreed. They played a huge role in our wedding decor. We let our florist use his creative eye and did not control which types of flowers that were being used. He gave us a few picture ideas to choose from and then surprised us on our wedding day. I must say that he nailed it, we were beyond pleased with all of the floral arrangements. Our beautiful flower girls did have little flower balls that they were going to carry down the aisle but they got so excited and swung them around so hard they didn't quite make it down the aisle with them. This is an example of not everything will go exactly how you plan it to but all that matters is that you enjoy your day and know that you are marrying your best friend!"

To complement the over-the-top florals, other eye-catching design elements were layered into the Lauxmont Farms wedding. Heather explains how the couple "used old whiskey barrels at the end of the aisle with beautiful bouquets on them and had flowers everywhere! We also used these whiskey barrels for a bar area after the ceremony. Our guest book was painted by my husband, we wanted something that we would be able to see and not just put away in storage. Chris painted a tree of life on a wooden board and had all of our guest sign the leaves. We now have it hanging in our kitchen area and we love it!" To add a bit of luck into the wedding day, there was also a paper crane backdrop behind the head table at the reception. A cigar bar and freshly-made guacamole bar were highlights of the reception, but the true showstopper came at the very end of the night. To cap off the Pennsylvania evening, the couple had a grand fireworks display!
