Laurie and Michael met through a mutual friend at Lehigh University. Michael, a senior, and Laurie, a freshman, were friends but never dated. After college, they lost touch but then ran into each other a few years later. They exchanged business cards and emailed back and forth for about a year. Finally, on April 1, 2005, the couple had their first date.
