Lauren & Zach in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Lauren Lambert, an event planner and P.R. specialist, 25 and Zachary Tompkins, and archivist, 27, met while in college and were wed at Louisiana State University’s Arboretum. “The Arboretum had everything we didn't realize we wanted: it was secluded, simple, and naturally gorgeous,” says Lauren. The couple complemented the natural setting with simple white decor and neutral hues. Lauren and Zach were married in front of a large oak tree with white hydrangea and lilies of the valley decorating the ceremony arch. Their reception had similar touches as each white linen covered table was matched with burlap runners, exposed wood chairs and low arrangements that include of white hydrangea and green hypericum berries in antique silver vases. Lauren and Zach served a Southern style dinner with fried Louisiana catfish and shrimp and grits on the menu. A New Orleans brass band, Big Fun, played throughout the couple’s reception and ceremony. “I'm fairly certain every single person at the wedding danced and sang,” says Lauren. The couple ended their night with a second line dance to their car. Their wedding party continued the night with a trolley ride from the couple to a neighborhood bar.“The best elements of our wedding were truly our friends and family,” says Lauren.
