It was at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor that Lambrina Kanellis and Adam Tercala discovered that they had chemistry together -- literally. The BrideLambrina Kanellis, 25, environmental engineer The Groom Adam Tercala, 25, software engineer The Date August 13 Lambrina and Adam were paired up as lab partners, much to Lambrina’s dismay. “I thought Adam was a bit of a teacher’s pet and that I’d hate chemistry lab,” she says. “Boy, did he ever turn that first impression around.” Four years later, Adam dropped to one knee and proposed.

The bridesmaids wore maize-colored tiered dresses by Lazaro.
For dessert, Lambrina’s mother and aunt made a scrumptious three-tiered chocolate raspberry and vanilla custard wedding cake.
Though it needed serious alterations, Lambrina was able to purchase her Jessica McClintock gown off the rack at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, Michigan.
The couple married under a wooden gazebo at Wildwood Preserve Metropolitan Park, a location that was as comfortable as it was beautiful. “We aren’t religious, so we wanted a location that made us feel comfortable with who we are,” explains Lambrina. They kept their vows traditional, but readings from authors such as Mark Twain and Ann Marrow Lindbergh gave the ceremony a personal feel.
Lambrina and Adam chose a color scheme of pale yellow and ivory for their reception at Toledo Country Club. The guest tables were topped with yellow runners that were handmade by the bride, groom, and the bride’s grandmother, and asymmetrical flower arrangements of orange roses, berries, and foliage added a fresh pop of color.
Lambrina carried a bouquet of 13 ivory roses, because it has always been her favorite number.
