Kristin and Rob wanted an intimate, outdoor wedding, and after looking at more than 20 different locations, decided to look at one more: a redwood grove on the grounds of The University of California Botanical Garden. “We knew then and there that was where we would get married,” the bride recalls. Kristin, 30, a speech pathologist, and Rob, 31, a teacher, first met—briefly—at a friend’s party. “We each thought that the other was attractive but only talked for a few minutes,” Kristin says. Two months later, Rob asked their mutual friend for Kristin’s phone number. “The rest, as they say, is history!” she exclaims. A little more than two years later, while at home in bed with their beloved cats, Rob proposed.
