For Kristin Cobb and Miguel Fonseca, it was love at first site -- that is, for their wedding site, the Ancient Spanish Monastery. When we visited, says Kristin, we both knew immediately that it was the place. THE BRIDE Kristin Cobb THE GROOM Miguel Fonseca THE DATE December 7 Kristin and Miguel met when both were working for the now-defunct Arthur Andersen. They were pals years before they began dating, but after that first romantic moment they both knew they had discovered something special. Mike proposed on their 15-month dating anniversary. With more than a year to pull everything together, Mike and Kristin were able to relax and enjoy the wedding-planing process.

Kristin and Miguel were married by a Franciscan friar in a ceremony that included a poem by Pablo Neruda, read in both English and Spanish.
The Monastery was the inspiration for the entire event, Kristin says. The setting inspired a vision of romance, drama, elegance, and a feeling of medieval times. Apparently guests also shared the vision: Kristin's aunt commented that she almost expected Romeo and Juliet to appear at the wedding.
Kristin and Mike opened the dance floor with the band's rendition of At Last. Says Kristin, All of the nervousness and pressure were over -- and we lost of sight of everyone and everything that was going on around us, as we gazed into each other's eyes. Then the band switched into a mixture of Latin and pop music that appealed to the energetic crowd. Hours later when the evening ended, the newlyweds had a last dance to Andrea Bocelli's Goodbye. Guests surrounded the two in a circle and blew bubbles until the couple finished their goodnights -- and jumped into their waiting Rolls-Royce.
