When Kristen walked into a legal seminar one day, the last person she expected to run into was her old high school classmate, Patrick. “We graduated in the same class but did not really know each other back then,” says Kristen. “But we recognized each other at the seminar, started talking, and started dating.” The Bride Kristen Cooper, 34, senior paralegal The Groom Patrick Wehage, 35, attorney The Date October 15 Five and a half years later, Patrick proposed during a romantic weekend in Napa Valley. Soon plans were underway for an outdoor fall wedding.

The bridesmaids held bouquets of Magic Curiosa roses with chocolate fern curls, while the boutonnieres were deep orange–hued mini calla lilies. The maids' outfits were complete with Loeffler Randall shoes, a gift from the bride.
Kristen and Patrick’s invitations featured a champagne pocket with a cream tab and an acorn and oak-leaf motif with their names at the bottom.
All of the floral arrangements at the ceremony incorporated the wedding’s fall theme.
The tall centerpieces showcased burnt-orange orchid sprays, roses, calla lilies, and persimmons around the base.
Cake flavors consisted of white cake with lemon mousse and raspberries, Grand Marnier cake with chocolate ganache, and carrot cake with pineapple cream cheese filling.
“The space was the perfect backdrop for our fall-themed wedding, with cream walls, honey-colored parquet floors, gold brocade curtains, and dramatic crystal chandeliers,” says Kristen. Four red marble fireplaces added drama to each corner of the room and were decorated with family photos and hundreds of votive candles.
Kristen's bouquet was comprised of cream Sandy Femma roses with chocolate fern curls and orange Mokara orchids.
The ceremony took place an hour before sunset at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace on the lawn facing a long rectangular reflecting pool.
