Krista and Jake started dating in the eighth grade and stayed together (save for a few short-lived breakups) throughout high school and college. The Bride Krista Kabbes, 23, accountant The Groom Jacob Niebrugge, 24, accountant The Date June 12 Krista and Jake were running late for an appointment when he passed the highway exit where they were supposed to get off. Annoyed, Krista asked where he was going, and Jake said she’d find out soon enough. When they arrived at their favorite place in St. Louis, Forest Park, Krista started to get suspicious. Jake pulled two fleece blankets out of the trunk and suggested they take a walk. When they approached the plaza in front of the lake, he pulled a ring out of a Ziploc bag in one of his socks and proposed. They walked to a nearby restaurant, where both sets of parents were waiting to celebrate.
