For Kimberly Anne (Kimber) Smith and Andres Ramos, there was no formal wedding proposal. After 9/11, we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. One night at dinner we said simultaneously, 'We should get married' -- and the date was set!' reports Kimber. We planned everything from scratch, she says, and we bought everything ourselves: from the beer, wine, and alcohol to the tablecloths and hangers. The setting, a TriBeCa loft, was chosen, according to Kimber, because we wanted our wedding to flow through several spaces as if our guests were flowing through an art gallery.
